Over the past few weeks, I have come to realize that I have complete sympathy for every human being.

When I see someone, I see them as an innocent newborn who has been burdened (or blessed) with their genetic dispositions and their social and environmental experiences.

I can’t describe how much at peace I am with this.

Yesterday, I found myself watching part of Miss Korea 2006. (No, I don’t understand Korean and, no, I don’t partake in this activity regularly.) Nevertheless, I was listening to the speeches when one of the contestants said:

If there’s a will, there’s a way.

However, because she couldn’t speak English very well, her “a will” sounded like “oil”. That’s how I heard it at first, and I immediately thought of the Bush administration.

It’s funny because the “oil” version of the proverb could pass off as their mantra.

[(sarcastically) Wow! You're hilarious!]

Dude, why do you always give me a hard time? I wasn’t trying to be laugh-out-loud funny. I just wanted to point out some irony and…nevermind. Forget I said anything.

[Ha ha! Loser!]

You’re calling me a loser? Look at you. You have nothing better to do than hang around here. I’d keep my mouth shut if I were you.

Henry Kissinger famously noted during the height of the Vietnam War that,

The conventional army loses if it does not win. The guerilla wins if he does not lose.

Let there be peace in the Middle East.

Throughout the course of the day, I beget interesting thoughts which ultimately find themselves lost in the cul-de-sac of my subconscious.

Here are some notes I took earlier today in less than an hour:

1. Sneezing effects an euphoric feeling.

2. John G. Roberts is pro. He looks like the kind of man who has everything figured out for himself. Very sophisticated.

3. The cornucopia of network court shows essentially ridicule the justice system.

4. Damn my evanescent thoughts. I need to follow through.

5. Sasquatch means Bigfoot. But, to me, the word evokes the image of an obscure vegetable.

6. Bush’s public temperament has changed recently. I wonder why, exactly. I’m sure there are a number of reasons.

7. “under God” should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. It was added in 1954 largely because of the Knights of Columbus. Screw that!

See? These thoughts deserve better treatment beyond the deluge of interest showered onto them during their proverbial 15 minutes of fame.
