News anchors have immense difficulty ending conversations with guests. There’s always a mess of extended pauses and interruptions at the conclusion of a discussion, making it all very awkward for all parties involved, including the viewers. There has to be a fix for this seemingly simple problem. Maybe a simple protocol for all anchors to follow? Like, the anchor ends the conversation and that’s all there is to it. No response needed or expected from the guest. That’d be a quick and easy way of doing it.

I’m 24 and have yet to figure out how to deal with teasing and smartasses.

With respect to the teasing, in the form of an annoying nickname, I am apparently supposed to not acknowledge it or show that it bothers me, and that will make it go away. But what’s unsettling is that I’m a stoic person to begin with. So I’m certain I haven’t shown any emotion to fuel the repeated nickname-calling…

And with regards to conversations with smartasses, I’m guessing I need to just immerse myself into that kind of tediuos dialogue enough times so that I can learn from experience.

Over the past few weeks, I have come to realize that I have complete sympathy for every human being.

When I see someone, I see them as an innocent newborn who has been burdened (or blessed) with their genetic dispositions and their social and environmental experiences.

I can’t describe how much at peace I am with this.

Back in May, I declared that I would thereafter use a particular model to title my posts, namely the placement of “A Post About” before the topic to be discussed.

However, after applying the technique a number of times, I must say that it’s becoming an increasingly superfluous eyesore. I mean, writing down the topic by itself would suit just fine.

In a way, the “A Post About” was like a set of training wheels to help me learn how to title my posts.

Well, I can say with confidence that I’ve trained enough and I’m ready to move on.

I mentioned earlier that I have trouble choosing titles for my posts.

Well, I think I’ve come up with a solution.

I’m going to henceforth title my posts in accordance with the following model:
“A Post About (blah)”.

It’s similar in concept to the format used by the “Friends” sitcom to title their episodes.

Anyway, I feel my titles will get the job done. They’ll orient the posts. They’ll also prepare the reader for the onslaught of my brain-numbing, neuron-destroying blurbs.

I’m currently stagnant.

I’ve been this way for the past few days.

I can’t let this condition persist.

I have a lot of “bidness” to take care of, so to speak.

Did someone say something?

Throughout the course of the day, I beget interesting thoughts which ultimately find themselves lost in the cul-de-sac of my subconscious.

Here are some notes I took earlier today in less than an hour:

1. Sneezing effects an euphoric feeling.

2. John G. Roberts is pro. He looks like the kind of man who has everything figured out for himself. Very sophisticated.

3. The cornucopia of network court shows essentially ridicule the justice system.

4. Damn my evanescent thoughts. I need to follow through.

5. Sasquatch means Bigfoot. But, to me, the word evokes the image of an obscure vegetable.

6. Bush’s public temperament has changed recently. I wonder why, exactly. I’m sure there are a number of reasons.

7. “under God” should be removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. It was added in 1954 largely because of the Knights of Columbus. Screw that!

See? These thoughts deserve better treatment beyond the deluge of interest showered onto them during their proverbial 15 minutes of fame.

Recently, I’ve spent a few moments pondering about the immensity of the universe and the seemingly insignificant nature of Earth and humanity in terms of space and time. (If you have a hard time picturing this, then check this out and play around with the options available. You’ll understand what I’m talking about.)

Anyway, after some thought, I must say I’m frustrated at the limitations that space and time place on us humans. And I don’t mean it an all-encompassing perspective where I take the history of humanity into consideration. I’m referring to a shorter time frame that’s around, let’s say, a hundred years. Now, within this interval, advancements in technologies to explore other planets will be relatively slow. Additionally, even if we develop the technology to explore other planets, the amount of time it would take to reach them would be inordinately long. (Frustrating, isn’t it?)

Some of you may not place too much importance in learning about what makes up the rest of the universe. But, some of us, like me, do. And, I’m sure humanity will continue its efforts to learn more about the universe for as long as possible. In that case, the limits posed by space and time are significant.

Okay. That’s really all I have to say about that for now. I’m just throwing this thought out there.

So, donate a few minutes to such thoughts. It won’t hurt. Hopefully, it’ll just give you a renewed sense of yourself in the context of the universe, with all of its space and time. As they say, (not really…I’m making this up): “From the Big Bang to the Big Picture”. (I’m not sure that makes any sense at all. But, oh well. Take care.)
